Fairy Hugs Zelena and friends

Hi there and welcome back to Fairy Hugs!  Joy, here today with a magical slimline Christmas card to share with you. featuring Zelena, Corwain, Wilwin, and the Musical Walkway!

But, first I would love it if you would subscribe to our email (on the side bar) so that you stay up to date with our latest products and events.

This card was a blast to make!  I don't typically do grunge, but this one I did and I love it!   But it's still classic Holidays!   For the main panel I stamped the Musical Walkway, Corwain, and Wilwin with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and heat embossed them with clear powder.   I used the same method with Zelena, but on white paper and fussy cut her out.  I added just a hair of watercolor to her wings to make them look transparent and then popped her up on foam tape in the center of the Musical Walkway.  I distressed the cranberry paper with Distress Oxide Aged Mahogany and Vintage Photo.  The sentiment is a retired set from my stash, but thought it was perfect.

The background layer was made using the negative space of several snowflake die cuts.   I sponged several Distress Oxides through them and heat embossed with clear powder.  I then added Vintage Photo to obtain an embossed resist look.  From there I distressed the edges with a scissors blade.  I mounted this on gold mirror card stock so that it would pop and finally onto a kraft card base.

Ok... I just love how Zelena pops!!!  What's your favorite part of the card?  I'd love to know!

Please don't forget to sign up for emails and stay in touch!  You can find more inspiration on our Fairy Hugs Store Facebook page, and we'd love for you to share your makes with us.
